LGBT SONGWRITER AMY CAMPBELL HEADS WEST FOR THREE WEEKS OF SHOWS by: Amy Campbell, Amy Campbell
Toronto-based, Newfoundland-native Amy Campbell will bring her critically acclaimed songs through Northern Ontario, the prairies and British Columbia for three weeks of original, acoustic music.
Amy Campbell's latest release - "Oh Heart, Oh Highway" - peaked at #1 on CBC Galaxie's Folk/Roots Chart, and was the winner for "Best Folk" and a nominee for "Best Song" at the Ontario Independent Music Awards (2008). She recently placed in the top 20 of ourstage.com's "Lilith Fair Talent Search" and was chosen by the Songwriters Association of Canada to perform with Justin Rutledge at their web launch party (June 2010). Amy Campbell brings together classical training and folk sensibilities to create music that reaches into human experience and comes back with stories written from the soul, and has been heralded by reviewers as "well poised to one day inherit Joni Mitchell's place as Canada's quintessential female singer-songwriter." (Herizons Magazine).
Stops include Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Victoria, and points in between. The trip will culmintate at the Islands Folk Festival in Duncan, BC, and will include many special guests along the way.
